Are we shaped by culture?
After a lecture I wanted to look into whether we are affected by culture.
Culture is always in the news and that is not necessarily just in the entertainment and arts section of a news company. The topic of culture has sometimes often become an explicit debate. Like the in the 2012 presidential elections when Mitt Romney took flack for saying that the power of culture is responsible for the different living standards of Israelis and Palestinians and some have tried to understand how pop culture may have influenced a an american shooter James Holmes, it is worthwhile to examine the ways that culture does and doesn't influence behavior.
How does culture affect art?
Looking at different countries and culture and see how they are different.
Japan and the UK.
Is there much of a difference when comparing japanese illustrated characters to those of a British designs and illustrator, something to think about in my work, How is my work influenced but culture.
