Collide

Initial ideas

First initial ideas. When first presented with the brief I made a few note and mind maps of my what my ideas around the three themes, happiness, the future and the internet. There themes are different and I did at first stubble to see how the themes could be linked.

My first thought about what makes me happy was, knowledge. I like to learn about different thing and figuring out how to accomplish different tasks. This then lead me on the brain and how our brain work and how or where it stores what we learn. Your brain controls every aspect of your body and nervous system. It is the most complicated organ in the body, this in itself is an interesting thought as the brain has so many areas and sections that do different things but at the same time work together in harmony to ensure that you body and mind keep working correctly.

My first thought when discussing the internet is that it is full of some many different things that help us through our day to day lives, such as if you want to know how to cook something or who person in a film is you are able to make a quick search online. Another large feature of the internet is social networking sites. There are some many different social media sites form just photo and video sharing to those that let you share almost anything. Social media is growing fast and has seen a 58% increase over 10 years (2005-2015). Over 67% of americans use social networking sites and this increase has affected things like  work, politics and political deliberation, communications patterns around the globe. It has also caged the way people share and receive information about many subjects including  health, civic life, news consumption, communities, teenage life, parenting, dating and even people’s level of stress. With this increase possible set to rise with new generations, many more thing will start to be shared and a possibility that after someone dies there memorise and even their personalities will live and kept on there social media accounts.

When discussing the future I originally started to think about where I would like to be and the different paths I could potentially take. I started to ask myself where would i like to be in 10 years time? The answers to this did vary as I want to do such much within those ten years. In those 10 years I would like: to finish university, go travelling, move out of home properly, have a job that I love, a career that is heading in a good direction and possible get married and have a child (towards the end of those 10 years).

I also explored and discussed the future of society. I asked myself some questions on this subject: What is the future of this country? What is food in the future going to be like? How will technology change? How will global warming effect the planet? and many more.
The main feature of my interest is where will technology be in 10 years time such as  ‘Bio Technology’. This technology allows a person who has had an arm or leg amputated to control a prosthetic with their brain and requires no surgery.
Another future theme which I engaged is where social media will be and how people's entire lives are stored on them possibly for ever.

Going back to what makes me happy, many things make me happy but one thing makes me the happiest, and that is spending time with family and friends, make memories with them.
