Character- make it speak

Creating Speech

In this workshop I learnt how to animate a character speech. To do this I first edited the sound so I knew were each distinctive sound or syllable. I did this in Adobe Audition, by pressing the 'M' key on the keyboard to add a maker at a specific point in the dialog then marking those markers with the syllables. Then using an X sheet I wrote down the word and syllable at the correct frame rate.

For the actual mouth shapes I used a template provided and drew out the mouth shape. I then scanned the sheet in to the computer so I can use it in creating the character talking. I chose to go with the character I had previously worked with.

Then in photoshop I created a new document to the size 960px- 540px. Then I opened up the video timeline and created a timeline animation, I also made sure that I set the frame rate to 12 fps. I then opened up the scan images and pasted in the head shape to become the background of the image.
I used the X sheet to help mark out where and when I needed to draw the correct mouth shape. Once that was complete I added in the eyes, making them blink and move at some of the pauses.

Over all, for a first time at doing something like this, it is not bad and would like to create more in this area.
