3D Cameras
For this workshop I learnt about the 3D
cameras with in after effects.
To start with I needed a 2d illustrator seen
making sure each part of the illustration was on a different layer and that
some went of the documents size. I created a simple city in back and a country
side at front. In total I had around 8 layers.
Moving in to after effects, when importing
the illustrator file in click retain layer style so the layers keep the same appearance.
I then created the composition creating it in the usual way and keeping to the standard
size of 1920px -1080 and the frame rate of 25fpm.
I then dragged the illustrator file in to
the comp and turn on the 3D button enabling them to travel in all 3 dimensions.
Then so I would be able to see more than one dimension I switch the views to 2
so I could see the front and the top.
The next sage is to add the camera and to
do this I simply went to new, layer, camera, I also made sure that the camera
was set at two node cameras present at 50mm. the camera then appears on the composition
it has a triangle appearance and this is so you are able to see what the camera
sees, it filed of vision. I then moved the camera through the composition backwards
from the back to the front creating keyframe as I did it so the camera was
animated moving through.
Then to some of the layers I added a
texture to give it more depth and overall improve the film. The next step was
to add a paper role affect to do so I went to, effect, distort, CC page turn. Then
in the control panel that will appear, I change it to Classic UI. I then
controlled the position of the fold by changing it to -180. Then I simply moved
the timeline pointer to were I want the effect to start and end and this gave it
the unfolding effect.
This is my first attempt.

For a first time effort I do not believe that this was the worst thing but I felt that i could improve so I built on what i had learnt and created a new.
