Words That Offend.
There are many powerful words that hurt and offend people. I will focus on words which are commonly used and generally aimed at women.
These words are not always taken offensively, I do not take them personally my self but they are words that do hurt others. The context in which many people use them are to shame, dehumanise and cause distress. I want to be able to show that these words can cause offence when labelling another person with this word.
Sl*t noun
1. Disparaging and Offensive. a sexually promiscuous woman, or a woman who behaves or dresses in an overtly sexual way.
2. Informal. a person with a seemingly insatiable but often undiscerning desire to do or have something specified: guilty of being a shoe slut;a book slut, reading five books at once.
3. Archaic.
a prostitute; harlot.
an immoral or dissolute woman.
a dirty, slovenly woman.
Sl*g
1. An individual who cares not for relationships beyond the realm of the sexual, these people sleep with many partners not caring about anything save for the moment of climax.
2. Rubbish that is not worth the time or effort of paying attention to it, but none the less draws one in. Used to describe unpleasant situations.
Bitch
Slang. a person who is submissive or subservient to someone, usually in a humiliating way:
anything difficult or unpleasant: That test was a real bitch.
Slang. to complain; gripe:
They bitched about the service, then about the bill.
Tramp

Whore noun
1.a woman who engages in promiscuous sexual intercourse, usually for money; prostitute; harlot; strumpet.
