Migrant and Refugee
The refugee crisis happening in Europe is one of the largest refugee crisis ever. This has been going on since 2011 when around 1,250 and grew to 3.8 million by 2015. this came to the European publics and the world attention during august and was made viral with the image of a 2 years olds body being washed up on the shaw, after the boat ha and his family were on sank. (He and his brother and mother also died.) This danger they face to cross over in to Europe is a dangerous one but they feel the that danger is less to than the one in there home country that they take it. This winter many more are set to make that crossing in freezing temperatures making it even more deadly. This needs people attention.
Syria
Syria’s civil war reached the capital of Damascus in 2012 by the June of 2013 the UN said that 90,000 people had been killed by this conflict, by August 2014 the number has risen to 191,000 it then continued to climb up to 250,000 in August 2015 and will continue to rise. During the conflict in 2013 Syria were found to be using chemical weapons which claimed the life of hundreds. this caused an outcry throughout the world. The UN and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) destroyed these weapons.
The rebel groups have grown and have increased to include sections of jihadists and Islamic state. This conflict is the main reason for the refugee crisis and needs to be spoken about.
Global Warming
Global warming: The planet is warming up at an alarming rate and although a lot of people know and understand that this is happening yet do nothing about it.
Deforestation: The destruction of forest around the world and the declining habitats for a lot of animals
Space
Space exploration is at a high as we have imagers from the most of outer regions of our solar system as we now have clear images of pluto.
There has also been discoveries on mars that the rover has found water.
Mental Health
A quarter of the population will experience some kind of mental health problems in the space of a year with depression and mixed anxiety being the most common mental disorder in the uk. women are more likely to have a mental problem then men, and about ten percent of children will have a mental health issues at any one time.
Depression affects 1 in 5 people and suicide rates show that British men are three times more likely to die by suicide than British women and self harm is statistics for the uk show one of the highest rates in Europe 400per 100,000 population. Only 1 in 10 prisoners has no mental disorder.
Communication
Through out history development in technology and communication have travelled had in hand along the years. the last technological development such as the internet and mobile devices have resulted in communication being taken to the next level. With the introduction of social media we have felt more connected than ever but are we making an effort to see people in person? Where's the next steps in this evolution of communication?
The process of communication has evolved over the years, with many discoveries heralding revolutions of a lift to one level to another.
