For this tutorial in after effects i was taught how to create kinetic type, moving typography.
I first planned out each scene / section in Illustrator, there are 6 senses in total. The first four scene / sections contain different parts of the quote, they are all different positions which enables a clean and clear change.
The quote I chose to use was from the hunger game series, the quote it self is a powerful message, so it needed a font almost as powerful as this quote. I choses the ‘Northwood high’ which I believe represents it quite well.
When opening the program, After Effects I created a new composition to the size of 1920x1080. To add a background layer I added a new layer by going to ‘layer’ then ‘new’ the ‘new solid’. I chose to be quite simple with colour and go for a grey background with white text, making the text stand out. To create the text I used the text tool and just retyped the quote out making sure they were the correct size and in the same place. The last s
I then began to add the effects and movement by using the transformation tools. To make the text move the positions and transformation tools, but I did not use them all the time instead to make the text appear I positioned each layer in the composition panel, making sure the layers were only visible at the right time.
